Script submission

Writers are keenly aware that most companies will usually not answer query letters and will not consider unsolicited submissions of screenplays. For an industry that is always crying it cannot find new talent or good stories, this is an extremely frustrating experience for the writer.

This office will submit screenplays on a "per submission" price in order to accommodate the writer and to further her/his career. Also, as a courtesy to my writer clients (and at no extra charge), a one-page synopsis of their screenplays will appear on the Synopsis page of this web site so that Producers, Directors and such who visit this site can see what some of my clients have to offer.

Cost: $150 per submission. Minimum of 5 submissions to start, then single submissions are acceptable.

Contract negotiation

It is often not what is in the contract that matters, but what is NOT in the contract that is crucial. Only an entertainment attorney will recognize these issues. For instance, most of the studios will not negotiate their "net profits" definitions. What most non-industry attorneys do not recognize is that studios usually have several different versions of net profits, and it is my job to negotiate for the best version.

Or how about your credit? Did you ever consider where it is placed on the screen; is it in the main or end titles? What is the size, and how long will it be on screen? Will you be sharing a credit, or will you have the glory to yourself? Will you get a credit in paid advertising? If your contract doesn’t specifically state your position, you will most certainly be disappointed.

General representation

Includes all matters related to the entertainment industry, excluding litigation and tax related issues. The spectrum ranges from solving rights issues to guidance and hand holding. The entertainment industry is such that clients recognize the need to have an attorney by one's side, both intellectually and during crucial meetings.
